Today’s blog post will delve into the details of where I found the perfect dress as a wedding guest, the creative styling process, and the stunning end result. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding on Friday, the 31st, in the beautiful city of Glasgow at the exquisite venue known as ‘The Engine Works’.

I spent some time browsing online since the town I live in doesn’t have any shops where I can buy clothes directly. During my search, I stumbled upon a dress on Pretty Little Thing. Having never shopped from there before, I felt uncertain about the quality and material of the dress, but ultimately I decided to take a chance. I reassured myself that if I needed to return it, I had plenty of time to do so. So I bought it and this is what I ordered.
I fell in love straight away as soon as I clicked on this; I just thought it was the perfect color and vibe for the season.
During the wedding i got many compliments on the dress so knew i picked the right choice, luckily enough for me i matched the theme of the venue and the decorations.

When looking for shoes, I wanted to go with something more platformed, mainly because I hardly wear heels and find it difficult to walk. I decided to have a look at a chunky heel. After browsing through options at Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, and other stores, I finally came across a pair I liked from ASOS. I only bought them because the color scheme kind of matched my dress, and they reminded me of something that a ‘Polly Pocket’ or ‘Groovy Chick’ would wear 😭

Now, as much as they looked nice they didn’t feel too good. The rubber rubbed against my toes and it made it a pain to walk in but thankfully a few glasses of wine in and i was fine, it was like it never even happened. If you are going to purchase these shoes i’d definitely make sure you’ve worn them in well before as i made the mistake of not doing so😅

When thinking about what jewelry to choose, I wasn’t sure what I was going to go for. I endlessly scrolled to find the right piece, then gave up and decided I was going to wear an old piece until I rediscovered the page @caitlins_.crafts on Instagram. I had a wee scroll and found something I loved; the colors matched the detail of my dress, and it went perfectly with the vision. I purchased a necklace and a pair of earrings for only £7.50

Since my dress isn’t backless, I decided to wear my hair down. I have worn my hair up a few times for the past weddings I’ve been to and wasn’t really a fan, so I decided to do what I knew would make me feel comfortable, which was to wear it down on this occasion. When it comes to hair, I am terrible; it has never been my strong point. So, I took to TikTok and decided to trial run this, and liked the vision, so stuck with it. Unfortunately i didn’t manage to get much photos of my hair as i still get a bit nervous taking photos, i’m trying my best 😪
